As a long standing supporter of Preen, we just couldn’t wait to see what Justin and Thea would send down the catwalk for AW09.
Our favourite design duo started their show with above the knee shifts in varying combinations of black and white featuring sheer panels. We loved the long-sleeved mini dusted with Swarovski crystals across the shoulders and sleeves!
With a selection of short, sexy, black cocktail dresses the mood descended into pure darkness. But when a lush parade of coats and sorbet coloured dresses burst onto the catwalk the mood lifted just as quickly.
We – or the entire audience for that matter – could not help but give thundering applause when the designers took their bow on the catwalk, and post-show, editors were still buzzing about the collection.
Vogue’s market editor Meredith Melling-Burke told us, “After last season I was really looking forward to this season and Preen didn’t disappoint. I thought it was so exciting, the tailoring was so precise. I saw a real trend in Eighties referenced looks, and they weren’t all black or so severe. They introduced great pops of colour in the end.”
Our sentiments exactly! We can’t wait to get Preened up.
