Archive for June 2009:
We've always loved Roald Dahl – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Twits, Matilda and The BFG – so when we found out that London's Museum of Childhood were holding Snozzcumbers and Frobscottle, we got rather excited!
Dedicated to showing the wonderful world of Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake – who bought Dahl's stories to life with his magical illustrations – Blake's original drawings are there for you to see up close.
Blake's scribbles, dripping with watercolours immediately bring back childhood memories! After seeing Charlie Buckett with his grandparents tucked up in bed, we we're grinning from ear-to-ear. This is a must for anyone who grew up lost in the world of Roald Dahl!
On until 6th September in Bethnal Green, make sure you get down there!

On Sunday night, we held an exclusive screening at The Bellhouse in NYC! Showing our favourite film classic – Blow Up – a vintage vision of 60s London from Italian maestro Michelangelo Antonioni, it was a pretty cool night. While Mia Moretti hit the decks, there we're lots of complimentary drinks and snacks – including Topshop popcorn. Well done to those of you that got your hands on the most coveted tickets in town!
A first look at Tim Burton's adaptation
When we heard that Tim Burton was adapting Lewis Caroll's legendary 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' we couldn't wait to see what he'd make of Alice's already weird and wonderful fantasyland! With Johnny Depp playing the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar, it's certainly been Burton-ized. Currently being transferred into 3D format and set for release next March, we can't wait to see what Burton does with one of our favourite childhood stories.
As Florence Welsh from Florence and The Machine is one of the hottest performers around right now, we're already super excited to see her perform at Glastonbury this weekend!
But now that she's going to be wearing three one-off Topshop ensembles, we literally can't wait! These will be seen later tonight when Florence and The Machine support Blur in Manchester as well as on the John Peel Stage at Glasto this Saturday.
What could be more Florence than these statement making black and gold bodices teamed with floor length tassles, black and gold hand made roses, and a sculptured cape?! You'll just have to wait to see her shoes!
