For SS10, Marios Schwab mixed textures, colours, prints and silhouettes to create a poetic, bohemian look that combined different eras.
Presenting garments that represent the past, present and future and then teaming them together to create new looks, there was a triptych of different eras in each of Marios’ designs.
For Marios, draping nodded towards fading romanticism; classic tailoring was used to represent today’s austere surroundings; and pleating hinted at the clinical perception we have of the future.
Victorian draping met modern cocktail wear in a graceful draped chiffon skirt, hitched up and connected to a vertically pleated crop top and completed with clinical stainless steel sunglasses while organdie was bustled at the hip to create a skirt and teamed with a chain mail vest for a modern take on English eccentricity.
This was a beautifully fragile and unique vision that had the front row rushing backstage to congratulate Marios.
