MARY KATRANTZOU SS10

Marykatrantzou-opt Since graduating from the renowned MA at Central Saint Martins, the lovely Mary Katrantzou has made a name for herself with her bold and beautiful prints.

Charming the front row with her simple shifts and sculptural jewellery at both her MA show as well as her first solo show at London Fashion Week last season, for SS10, the Greek-born designer added a new dimension to her signature shifts by experimenting with shape and form.

Inspired by Peter Leyton’s hand blown glass, Mary’s prints were as beautiful as ever but what really gave her collection a new season spin was the stiffened organza that was worked into her shift dresses to create voluminous folds.

This was something new for Mary and teamed with her jaw-dropping blown glass necklaces and anklets this was her most striking collection yet!

After the success of her shift dresses, we’ve got a feeling that the fashion glitterati will be on the waiting list at Browns to get their hands on her sparkling, sculptural numbers.
