UP-AND-COMING…
Posted on January 8, 2010
A couple of months ago, we received a lovely email from a designer called Charlotte Taylor. As a Central Saint Martin's graduate who’s worked at Luella, it immediately caught our attention. And once we found out that Charlotte had set up a blog in order to document the start up of her womenswear label, we added it to our reading list.
Set to launch at London Fashion Week this February as part of Vauxhall Fashion Scout, it's a great time to start following what Charlotte's up to. With all the highs and lows included, Charlotte’s experiences are there for you to look at, learn from and chuckle at! There are lots of funny stories and anecdotes in her posts which are sure to make you smile.
We particularly love Charlotte's granny hunting antics! Translated – that means Charlotte running around the Isle of Wight snapping oldies for inspiration. In Charlotte's words, "I must say I do feel a little bit of an odd ball when I am hiding behind lamp posts, camera ready to try and get the optimum shot without being caught. The Isle of Wight Paparazzi I guess…Shush now."
Charlotte's blog offers a great insight into what actually goes into setting up a fashion business and producing a collection. So if you're thinking of going into the fashion industry, it's a must read.
We wish her the best of luck and can't wait to see what she presents in her first season at London Fashion Week come February.

Great post…thank you so much for sharing. Charlotte’s blog is an incredible resource for those even *thinking* of starting a line. Her willingness to share the details of her journey, and Topshop’s willingness to help get her out there are commendable. I fully intend to start reading her blog, beginning with the very first post.
