THE WANG FACTOR

Alexander Wang has become one of the shows in New York that everyone, and we mean, everyone, wants to see! No matter what it takes, every fashion loving girl will try and get herself a ticket. Sitting, standing, she doesn’t care, as long as she gets to see Wang’s collection, she’s there.

You see, not only does the young designer always have the city’s coolest girls sat up front - this year that included Zoe Kravitz and Alice Dellal - but his clothes are just so damn cool.

If there’s one designer who’s captured exactly what the world’s hippest girls want to wear then it’s got to be Wang. What’s so great about his pieces is that you can just throw them on and go! They scream cool with absolutely no effort at all.

A-Wang-use

But to the front rows surprise, for the first time since he hit the catwalk in 2007, Wang changed direction. Moving away from his love of sportswear, the designer embraced the suit for fall. But don’t fear, it may have been Wall Street that inspired Wang, but his collection still had that sexy, deconstructed feel we’ve come to know and love.

Wang knows exactly what his girls want to wear and it’s certainly not a three piece, pin stripe suit. She’s not going to show up to work on time, briefcase in hand! Instead, she’ll come in after a crazy night out, with a super strong latte, having thrown on a stomach-baring balzer, a vest, a pair of grey flannel pants, chunky heels and a backpack.

As well as his take on the suit, there were lace-slips and seriously sexy knits. While for after hours, velvet took shape in every form imaginable. From high waist leggings that would suit the downtown crowd - his close friend, and show stylist Erin Wasson  would certainly look great in them - to velvet crop tops teamed with leather pants and the tiniest of dresses, once again, everyone's going to want a bit of Wang in their wardrobe!
