THE FULL REPORT: DAVID KOMA

David Koma made his name with signature sexy silhouettes, dramatic embellishments and details that celebrate a woman’s erogenous zones. This season was no different, with dresses featuring cut-out detailing to highlight a delicate pair of collarbones here, or with mesh inserts to flash a bit of skin there.

USE1

The Georgian designer was inspired this season by the Art Deco paintings of Louis Icart – and the iconic graphic hounds leapt across knitwear or nosedived into the flouncy peplums of pencil skirts. There was a certain severity in the stiff, high collars that were added to dresses and shirts, but David’s party aesthetic was as present as ever, with colour-blocked silken sashes winding their way into a whole series of fun and flamboyant party dresses that we can easily picture on the red carpets.

We’re sure the Hollywood starlets would approve of the belted black dress with mesh sleeves and swathes of silk flaring out from signature hardwear embellishment on the skirt. Because who doesn’t like a bit of OTT every so often?
