The designers behind Helmut Lang, Nicole and Michael Colovos, know exactly what cool girls want to wear! We don't think we can name a front row favourite who doesn't have their leather skninnies, chunky knits and draped jersey dresses hanging in their wardrobe. You see, the Helmut Lang label has mastered the art of creating easy-to-wear pieces that as soon as you throw them on add an instant dose of laidback cool to your look.
Their AW12 show may have started with a myriad of white blazers that looked extremely high-maintenance for Helmut Lang, but that were so damn cool, you know every editor will be sporting one next season, practical or not! For those of us that can't abstain from food that stains (like the Liquiteria beet juice that every editor seems to clutch this season as part of their "cleanse") there were so many desirbale pieces that would instantly become your AW12 wardrobe stapes. Our favourites were the Armadillo-inspired black biker jackets, glossy black skinny jeans, intricate cobweb knits and their autumnal prints that were styled up from head-to-toe on the catwalk.
As for the insane boots, they proved themselves worthy of real-girl wear and tear – models had to stomp down a very steep ramp as part of their catwalk trek and every single one made it without even looking down. Well done girls!
