When we're travelling, one of our favourite airport activities is checking out the international magazine stands – it's always fun to discover new publications that you might not be able to get back home. Which is how we chanced upon Bullett, a US fashion/music/art/culture magazine that has become our latest obsession!
There are obviously a lot of brilliant magazines around, so a new one has to do something pretty special to stand out, and we think Bullett definitely has that something special. It has the appeal of a scrappy, homemade zine, with a handwritten Editor's Letter, stickers and little quirky touches, while also featuring Hollywood superstars and music icons in completely unexpected shoots (Daniel Radcliffe as Elvis, for example!). Fans of Lula and Nylon – this magazine is right up your street.
Its SS12 edition of Bullett is The Sin Issue, and it's dedicated to 'the forgotten dreams of summer'. The always heavenly Blake Lively graces the cover, and there's interviews with Beth Ditto and photographer Ryan McGinley. The startling Alice Glass of Crystal Castles stars in an amazing fashion editorial.
They definitely get their featured celebrities to try something new – for this issue, Scarlett Johannssen and her art collector boyfriend Nate Naylor curated a portfolio of their favourite new, challenging artists. Bullett certainly isn't your usual fashion mag, put it that way. Check it out!
