After seeing the star-studded front row at J.W. Anderson’s SS13 show we didn’t think we could get any more star struck. We were wrong! Jonathan’s London Fashion Week party held at Soho’s iconic Madame Jojo’s saw the fashion glitterati packed tightly into the baroque basement with famous faces galore.
Our much-loved songstress Delilah (working a head-to-toe JWAxTS tartan suit!) and music producers on the rise Aluna George were mixing and mingling whilst a mass of seasoned Fashion Week favourites ran back and forth to the bar for G&Ts.
Kick starting the evening’s tunes was the beautiful Harley Viera-Newton, the LA DJ who wore Swedish-style head plaits and a cute frilled blouse and played the perfect mixture of old school classics, cheese and electro. Jackson 5’s Want You Back, Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA and Robyn’s Girlfriend brought Wonderland’s fashion editor Julia Sarr-Jamois, Elle accessories editor Donna Wallace and In Style’s Natalie Hartley to the dance floor.
It wasn’t until sibling double-act Disclosure brought their dance-pop and bass-heavy tunes to the table that the party really started going and saw Daisy Lowe (in a J.W. Anderson for Topshop shirt and kilt!) twirling on a viewing balcony, LOVE magazine’s Anders Solvsten Thomsen saying hello to nearly everyone, Anna Trevelyan getting her chat on and Alexa Chung popping in for a quick mingle with Corrine Rae-Bailey and Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark.
The pinnacle of Disclosure’s set was the presence of the fabulous Jessie Ware. The singer-songwriter, who was front row at the Topshop Unique SS13 show a day earlier, stormed the stage in a black onesie, tight chignon and chav-fabulous gold earrings to perform her latest hits with fierce attitude. Such a feisty performance brought Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan, Creative Director for Elle Magazine Joe Zee and (Topshop fave) International Editor at Large for Vogue Hamish Bowles to the dance floor. Hamish, who even without his signature glasses looked as chic as ever, was definitely leading the party moves!
For this excitable crowd the party just wasn’t enough and once the bar closed at 1am the troupes powered on to Serge Becker’s legendary Box club in Soho where Olivier Zahm was snapping away for Purple Diaries. Needless to say, we weren’t feeling too clever this morning but think this might just have be the best fashion week party we’ve been to in quite sometime.
Love J.W.Anderson? Don’t forget to check out his amazing Topshop collaboration – well what’s left of it!
