With a personal collection pushing 200 pairs and a line of dreamy heels already under her belt, Chloe Jade Green undeniably has the shoe-savvy to suggest what pumps, flats, boots or skyscrapers, we’ll be wearing for AW12. The designer and industry insider returned to the drawing board for her much-hyped second collection, revisiting previous models and giving them an upscale twist as well as introducing a new range of elegant flats, rock chick boots and party perfect heels and wedges. A fashion success, indeed.
After cooing over our favourite leather boots in the line, we chatted with Chloe to talk heel height, statement accessories and the importance of studded leggings.
How does this collection differ from your last?
I’ve experimented with different heel heights – I’ve still got my high wedges and platforms but have also introduced a lower block heel for boots and some cool studded flat pumps and bikers. Also my signature charms print now appears on my green leather soles. Due to the nature of the season the collection has a more edgy and gothic vibe with tactile fabrics, metal work and laser cut detail.
Can you give us some styling tips on how you’ll be wearing some of our favourite styles?
I’ve worn my Black Lilly biker boots nearly everyday – they’re so effortless and easy to wear with everything. I’ve undone the buckles to make them look even more relaxed and love-worn, the more you wear them, the better they get. The Dusk Shadow wedge ankle boots are a move on from my best selling Misha wedges from the first collection – they’re cut to the most flattering place on the ankle and look great with short dresses and ankle grazing jeans.
Why did you add accessories to the AW collection?
I love updating my own looks with statement jewellery and always look for individual pieces I can wear everyday. Aside from shoes, jewellery is a big passion of mine so adding a capsule range into the Autumn collection was a natural step for me. The silk scarves were an added bonus! I designed one last season as a press gift and we all loved them so decided it would be great to include two into the main range.
