Along with scoffing mince pies and adding tinsel to every outfit, the Christmas season brings another rare opportunity for indulging in our fantasies, and that is ice skating! It’s the time of year when rinks pop up across the country and we don our scarves, earmuffs and finest skater skirts to hit the rink. Us Topshop girls love more than sliding about, dancing around or (as some of us have to do) holding onto the sides and falling over to get us feeling festive!
But where better to be doing the skating than the dramatic surroundings of London’ Somerset House. And this year it isn’t just the epic Tudor architecture that makes it particularly awesome but their recent addition of club nights taking place right on the ice! Featuring the likes of Joey Negro, DJ Mag and the iconic Ministry of Sound team, there’s a genre and playlist for everyone.
As for us Topshop girls we found our musical harmony with Lovesick ak.a. Blond Ambition–namely Deanne Oliver-Evans who will be hitting decks on Wednesday 19th December. Mixing up classic and modern disco hits that she describes as “the fun of a festival tent and the mischief of a house party” for one dance filled night on the ice. How exciting does that sound?
