Ok, so the weather at London Fashion Week hasn’t been Britain’s finest thus far but for the international press out there we can promise you this summer has been our most gorgeous and sun-soaked yet. No surprises then that our Topshop Unique design team looked back to August’s scorching weather to inspire their Spring Summer 14 collection. That’s all we can say until the big reveal at 3pm but we thought we’d update you with a glimpse into behind the scenes at the space.
One of yesterday’s most important moments was the make-up tests in which the ever lovely, Topshop favourite, Rosie Tapner tried out the sun-kissed new look. Make-up consultant Hannah Murray was on hand to play with fake tan, bronzer and strong eye but what the final look is, you’ll just have to wait and see! Model Ms Tapner was on good form as usual and after hearing about the new app we were showing off – Chirp, of course! – the make-up room was all atitter with chrips and birdsong. Needless to say, Rosie’s a big fan of our new favourite app!
Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan and Head of Design Emma Farrow, however, were running around Topshop HQ busying themselves between make-up tests, model fits and putting the very finishing touches to the designs. Scissors and tape measures were wielded amongst mood boards of North African interiors. Soon enough some of Britain’s finest new faces were queuing out of the fit room door waiting to get their final looks perfected. Casting director extraordinaire Rosie Vogel was behind the selection of beautiful ladies about to walk in the.
Leading stylist Beth Fenton was also on hand to perfect the looks and ensure every piece was shown with optimum impact. We’ve given a glimpse of some of what you can expect from 3pm but not too much. For now, we’ll just reveal this collection is all about an effortless approach to summer dressing.
