THE FULL REPORT: J.JS LEE SS14

Good news for those of you who’ve invested in the pink trend for AW13: it’s back with a bang for SS14. J. JS Lee chose a cyclamen pink for her buttoned-up, stripped-back tailored pieces, with flashes of girly gingham and panels of sheeny waxed cotton adding an element of fashion-girl intrigue to every look

Front row… Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers, superblogger Susie Bubble

The girls on the catwalk… Topshop girl Marihenny and hot new Joan Smalls-alike Isis

Playlist… Cool Indie melodies curated by Marie Estelle Paquette.

What we loved… Waxed gingham button-up shirts, little navy lantern skirts and the shoes! Flat whites are the new shoes to sport for SS14 – you read it here first.

Hero piece… The pink, white and navy waxed gingham mac.

Inspired by… The London Aquarium! Designer Jackie Lee was fascinated with the changing colours underneath the waters and this was reflected in her fresh palette of cyclamen pink, deep navy and pops of bright turquoise.

End notes… The fact that almost everything that came down the catwalk would fit effortlessly into our wardrobes – but with a twist. From the mannish cut long blazers with touchable vinyl panels to the sorbet-hued party dresses with interesting stand-out seams at the waist, it’s easy-chic-cool.  What more could you want?
