Fighting the good fight against austerity, simplicity and minimalism are fashion thrill seekers – Meadham Kirchhoff. In an explosion of fuzz, sequins, tassels, frills, pompoms and colour their 4th collection is due to hit TOPSHOP stores on November 21st. Not only is it one of our most exciting designer collaborations yet but the idea behind it is just as intriguing! The designer duo came up with an off-the-wall fictional girl band in which the whole collection is based around and each piece is designed with a specific member in mind. Featuring the darling Cherry Cherie, the mischievous Cherry Satanika, the rebellious Cherry Pikka and the girly-girl Cherry Blossom, there’ll be a dedicate design for every wild personality. Tell us #whichcherryareyou over on Twitter!
Created for an imaginary girl band, The Cherrys, the range bears all the hallmarks of the London duo’s runway look.
“This collection for TOPSHOP was inspired by the idea of a band or gang which we named ‘The Cherrys’. The overall aesthetic was influenced by Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, Kembra Pfahler and glam rock. It is an enormous and all encompassing collection which will offer a myriad of choice for any customer to adapt or reject as they see fit.” said the designers.
If you’re familiar with their mainline collection then you’ll know just what to expect. If not – think Yellow Submarine with a pinch of girl power and a lot of glitter.
Kate Phelan, TOPSHOP Creative Director says, “The pieces are special and exciting, they capture their bitter-sweet world of fashion.”
Here, here. We couldn’t agree more. It’s your chance to rediscover the pure unbridled joy of dressing up.
P.S. Cherry Cherie, Cherry Satanika, Cherry Pikka and Cherry Blossom complete The Cherrys fictional line up – so make sure you tweet us and let us know #whichcherryareyou?
