Just like Topshop Unique, our bros over at Topman boast a premium collection that’s up there with London’s hottest fashion talents. Designed in-house using premium materials, the Topman Design AW14 line was shown earlier this week at London Collections: Men (the male equivalent of Fashion Week) and naturally us Topshop girls went along to check out the talent.
Arriving at the Old Sorting Office showspace, we were given a soggy reception as puddles of water spilled out across the runway. But it soon transpired this wasn’t a leak in the ceiling but an atmospheric part of the show. During the finale rain poured onto the runway, drenching the models from head-to-toe and filling everyone’s Instagram feed with hundreds of stormy looking snaps.
So apart from rocking the drowned rat look, what should the men in our life be wearing next season? Topman Design’s signature structured outerwear, sharp tailoring and statement knitwear were all present this time around and we particularly loved the PVC panels that added an edginess to the more classic pieces. Fisherman-inspired designs were also a highlight – with crochet jumpers, bright funnel-neck knits and heavy rain macs paying homage to the manly seafarer.
