There’s always something magical about a beautiful shop window. From Audrey Hepburn gazing at the jewellery in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the Christmas scenes at iconic department stores to the ever-inventive displays at Topshop, window shopping is best when it transports us to a whole new world.
Ever thought you could create this kind of magic yourself? Well, this year book publisher Phaidon are calling all budding Visual Merchandisers to design the world-famous windows of Foyles bookshop at Charing Cross Road! Working with the theme ‘books in fashion’, the winning design will showcase fashion books during London Fashion Week, including Pattern, Philip Treacy, The Fashion Book and The Anatomy of Fashion.
To enter, email your design with a 200-word cover letter explaining the concept with your name, address and contact details, as well as where you are studying, to email@example.com by 30 January 2014. The winner and two runners up will win a selection of Phaidon books worth £200.
