GLASTONBURY’S BEST BITS

And so another Glastonbury  Festival is over and the great Worthy Farm clean-up begins. But before the fun-down really sets in we thought we’d round up our best bits of this weekend’s hedonism:

Rhinestone Cowgirl

Good golly Miss Dolly put a twinkle in our eyes. Aided and abetted by her white crystal-clad trouser suit and matching rhinestone studded guitar, saxophone, fiddle and banjo.

Lily Allen’s Hair

Two words: festival perfection. It might have been raining but Sheezus‘  rainbow coloured do brought the rainbow to Glastonbury.

Art Attack

Added cultural stimulation came with the participation of street art star Banksy’s Sirens of the Lambs instillation. Scaring up a storm, the work – a converted farm truck packed with squealing cuddly toy animals making not so cuddly noises – toured the festival site.

Lets Hear it for the Girls

2014 will be remembered as the year the gurls done good. This year Pilton farm was brimming with grrls with attitude. In alphabetical order because we couldn’t possibly pick a favourite: Angel Haze, Blondie, Cate Le Bone, Chlöe Howl, Courtney Barnett, Dolly P, Foxes, Lana Del Ray, Lykkie Li, Kelis, MØ, St Vincent, Viv Albertine, Wolf Alice, Yoko Ono….

Music Men

The Boys weren’t so bad either. Like, George Ezra, who didn’t let the fact that he looks young enough for us to babysit him get in the way of a truly soulful set.

The Mud Mask

Love it or hate it, the mud did our skin some good. It was like a spa with a rockin’ soundtrack.

Haim!

Complete with Este Haim’s famed contortionist ‘bassface’, the LA-based girl band rocked our socks off. This was only bettered by the bands choice to wear Topshop – girls after our own heart <3.

The Healing Field

For all the weary warriors that battled the hail and rivers of mud, the healing field was a heavenly idyll.

Jerry Hall

Forget the style set that hang around backstage taking selfies, Jerry Hall was chic personified (and performing). Taking to the stage, the Texas born model gave Dolly a run for her money with her cowgirl fringing.

What a Drag

This year the coolest after dark hotspots were manned by eyebrow fluttering drag queens.
