LFW DAY ONE: ABOVE THE NECK

Designer Payzee Mahmod

Insane hair, quirky accessorising, hats and ornate headpieces were some of the main trends on show at London Fashion Week today. And everyone, but everyone, with noses in phones ‘gramming, hyperlapsing and instablending – we’re dying to spot the new early iPhone 6 users! The biggest surprise was how few trainers were actually around – have the London crowd reached saturation point already? We’ll be keeping an eye on the influx of  the New York fash pack from tomorrow to see if they’ll tip the balance!

WACKY HAIR DOS & COLOUR

Girls rocking awesome dye jobs – the focus was on pastel blues, greens and mauves – were stealing the street style show today. That and fab Marc by Marc Jacobs rave-inspired mohawk knots – the trick is not to make it too neat, the messier the better!

A PLETHORA OF FEDORAS

The most pervasive trend this morning on the Somerset House cobbles was without a doubt the fedora hat. The long-haired gals from the more boho to tailored were keeping it chic in different widths and autumnal colours of plum, chestnuts and back.

ACCESSORY MANIA

Street style photographers were literally queuing up to snap Dasha of the Trendspotter’s incredible ear cuff – take notes, this is how to stand out at LFW! More out-there accessories include a net veil and helmut-like hairband by milliner Keely Hunter – keep mixing it up, ladies!
