NYFW SS15: TRENDS DIGEST

Although we’re crazy busy prepping for LFW, we haven’t stopped checking our Insta and Twitter feeds for the NYFW trends. From catwalk to street style, here’s our pick of what you need to know to keep ahead… Get ready for some style inspo!

DOUBLE DENIM
One of the strongest street style looks this season has been double denim; the trick is to team differing shades and fabric. Break it up with a belt or check shirt wrapped around your waist. If one piece is all you can manage, distress to your heart’s content.

WHITE ALL WHITE
Layering up whites is big – right now and next spring. Already a favourite with the street stylers, think loose silhouettes in white and off-whites; get inspired by The Row, Tibi and Prabul Gurung.

STRIPES GONE VERTICAL
The stripe continues its reign but trade in Breton for the vertical. As seen at Altazurra and J. Crew, who showed boxy blazers and boy shorts for cool, androgynous style – try a sleeveless shirt dress to get the look.

FRINGE TRIM
The first few days of NYFW saw fringed and frayed pieces from Rachel Comey, Creatures of Comfort and Ulla Johnson among others. Embrace the swing and work it into your wardrobe with a kimono.

SNEAKER CULTURE
The cult of the sneaker (sorry, trainer!) continues as decreed by king of downtown-cool Alexander Wang who paid homage to the shoe with his sporty collection of bodycon neon dresses, slim fit trousers and mesh netting. Leave the heels at home, ladies.
