Your Sunday afternoon plans just got seriously good. The Topshop Unique AW15 catwalk show will be taking the halls of Tate Britain from 3.00pm (GMT!) but this season we’re adding an extra element of fun. Presenter Laura Jackson will be hosting a live stream from backstage and front of house from 2.30pm – from chatting to our hair and make-up teams to getting the lowdown on the inspiration from creative director Kate Phelan, Laura will be your girl on the ground, which you can watch at topshop.com.
We chatted to the Vogue presenter and regular on the front row to discuss the eccentricity of British style and what you can expect this Sunday…
What can we expect for Sunday?
Behind the scenes gossip! We’ll be talking to hair and make-up, to Kate how she starts to put this whole thing together, the inner workings. How many bottles of champagne drank, how many flowers, how many guests are coming, how many requests Topshop receive – that’s information that you never usually get. It’s going to be great!
Tell us what you’ve been up to so far at LFW?
I eased myself into day 1! I went to Eudon Choi and Shrimps, both at Somerset House and both were so good. I loved the kick flares and brightly coloured origami coats at Edon – it’s nice to have such a bright colour for AW.
Have you seen any great street style?
Donna Wallace from Elle looked amazing! She had baby pink patent boots on with an all baby blu outfit. Everyone just wanted to take pictures of her shoes.
What makes London different from other fashion weeks?
London, and England in general, has such eccentric yet sophisticated style. We’re leading the way with the amazing young designers at the moment and also having a real girl moment too. Think of NEWGEN recipient Simone Rocha and Hannah from Shrimps. London is where it’s at.
How do you dress for LFW?
You have to be comfortable and I also like to support the designers who’s shows I’m going to. I try to be sensible too, it’s cold outside and the BFC area is so cobbly! You have to think about these things. My general style is that I like to look French!
We can’t resist asking, but what’s it like working on Take Me Out: The Gossip?!
So much fun. It’s a great team – and all the dates are absolutely hilarious. It’s also really nice to be part of people wanting to find love. We could actually make an extra show about the shenanigans that go on when the camera isn’t rolling! They are all snogging eachother and all swapping dates…
And where exactly is Fernandos?
It’s one of life’s great mysteries!
