NYFW BY NUMBERS

New York Fashion Week is here! So what’s been happening so far? We run down everything you need to know by numbers…

KENDALL CATWALK SIGHTINGS: 2

We’re only a few days in and Kendall Jenner‘s already opened two big shows – going from grungey all-black-everything at Alexander Wang to ladylike in a chic wrap dress at Diane Von Furstenberg. We expect you’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the days to come…

SEVENTIES REFERENCES: 8

Long live the ’70s! It’s one of our fav trends for SS15 so we’re happy to see it sticking around for next season too. Altuzarra did fur stoles inspired by ’70s icon Gloria Vanderbilt, Rebecca Minkoff made Patti Smith her muse with boho fringing, and Opening Ceremony got us even more obsessed with cropped flares. And that’s before we’ve even got to the polonecks – seen everywhere from Victoria Beckham to Suno, Tome, BCBG Maxazria and Edun!

TEMPERATURE IN NYC: -15

If you ever needed tips on cold weather dressing, #NYFW is the hashtag to search. We watched in awe as the front rowers managed to style out seriously sub zero temperatures with some expert layering – think faux fur and luxe knits, big shearling jackets and cleated-sole shoes to navigate icy pavements.

FAMILY OUTINGS: 2

Bringing your baby to the front row? Old news. Now it’s the whole family. The Beckham clan were all present and correct to support Victoria’s catwalk show (with Harper rocking a mini LBD just like Mum), while Kanye’s collaboration with adidas Originals was a huge family affair thanks to Kim, Kendall, Kris, Kylie and North West showing up – not to mention friends of the family Beyonce, Jay Z and Justin Bieber. Can they adopt us?

HAIR SPRAY AT ALEXANDER WANG: 100+ CANS

Ok so we guessed this one. But judging from the dreads on every Alexander Wang model, it must’ve taken a good few bottles of lacquer to create the look. Inspired by Marilyn Manson, Redken hair stylist Guido twisted dry hair into sections before drowning them with hairspray for a greasy, undone effect.
