SHOWSTUDIO OPEN SHOP!

ShowStudio

SHOWstudio SHOP, 1-9 Bruton Place W1, will be open 11am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday

Founded by Nick Knight in order to unveil the process behind the creation of fashion imagery, SHOWstudio have just opened a pop-up shop in Bruton Place! Along with their innovative online projects, they are now giving the public the opportunity to shop part of a shoot.

Selling a selection of props created by the world's leading set designers and stylists, this is a unique opportunity to see, and if you're one of the privileged few, buy a slice of fashion history.

Featured in some of the most inventive shoots and catwalk displays, it's worth getting down there just to take a look at the work of industry figures such as Katy England, Shona Heath and Michael Howells. A huge fan of photographer Tim Walker, we just wanted to take home the oversized cherries created by Simon Costin for a shoot with Coco Rocha!

In their new live space, SHOWstudio also plan to invite some of the world's greatest designers to create unique pieces in front of webcams that you’ll be able to purchase later on.

This is one of the most exciting things that we've heard of in a while! But then that's no surprise – it's SHOWstudio!

If you go down to the Serpentine…

…You’re sure of a colourful time! We’ve been checking out the current exhibition at the London gallery, by bold and beguiling American artist Jeff Koons. Expect a whirlwind of cartoon characters, inflatable toys and his signature fabricated montages. Social commentary and current affairs underpin the pieces on show, but even if you just want to switch off and have a look around, his surreal combinations are sure to keep you entertained. Our favourite bit was the blow-up lobster, what will yours be? Head down to Kensington Gardens this weekend to find out. On until 13th of September, there's no excuse not to pay a visit to the Serpentine!

BITCHING AND JUNKFOOD

Loved the name the minute we saw it! Can't say we were expecting an online shop specialising in vintage clothing from the 80s and 90s, but that only made this online find all the more exciting!

Bitchingandjunkfood

With every item cherry picked from vintage suppliers around the world and tweaked to fit this season’s hottest street and catwalk trends, it couldn't be easier to find one off pieces that are bang up-to-date.  The store will also be showcasing a limited number of hand-made delights that you won't be able to find anywhere else!

And as if things couldn't get better, there will also be giveaways. They're not telling you how - it's all about the right time, the right page - but at any point, you could be hit with a freebie! No postage, no packaging and sealed with a kiss - their thinking is - times are tough, we're all broke, life's too serious, let's have a laugh!

This is a pretty inspiring story! Creator and Editor Marion set up Bitching And Junkfood after being made redundant just six months ago. Rather than frantically trying to apply for new roles, she took it as a sign, moved into a warehouse in Hackney Wick, built her studio (ghetto nails intact) and has spent the last six months working round the clock to get Bitching And Junkfood off the ground!

As a start-up, Marion also wants to see other stars rising. Cover shoots showcase slick fashion editorials featuring the very best of London's up and coming photographers, stylists, models, hair and make-up artists so get in touch if you fancy getting involved!

Reporting from clubs, dole queues, down dark alleys - wherever there's exciting stuff is to be found - check out their blog. Marion’s real-life models, friends and fashion chameleons are all there to be seen!

Welcome
