UNDERCOVER
August 05, 2009
For AW09, underwear as outerwear is a trend to note! Remember Richard Nicoll's corset detailing and flashes of PVC in an irresistibly sugary palette?
Looks like The Fashion and Textile Museum were also inspired by this season's collections. Their latest exhibition, 'Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear' shows how female underwear has evolved as women's role in society has changed. From the first ever patented bra (produced in 1915), to the corset of renowned burlesque artist Immodesty Blaize, and some seriously envy inducing designs from La Perla, it's full of sumptuous displays. Get down there before September 27th. - Credit; photographer Michelangelo di Battista.
