CHRISTOPHER KANE SS10

For SS10, Christopher Kane created a playful, feminine collection. Opening with a series of biscuit and navy blue gingham dresses, the designer made a simple yet beautiful start to his show. Powder blue, sherbet lemon and bubblegum pink were soon added to the mix, with Christopher using organza inserts, pleats and frills to add a flirtier feel to his dresses. And after the popularity of his cashmere pieces last season, gingham vests and sleeveless sweaters were layered over dresses, creating an irresistibly sweet touch.

Adding to the young playful feel of Christopher’s collection, dresses featured cutaway details, built-in bras and large slits that revealed just the right amount of leg! Barely there organza numbers in navy and candy-coloured hues were embellished with beads and crystals to create delicate floral details that will make gorgeous party numbers next season. After the success of last years’ collection and with Anna Wintour and Donatella sat on the front row, Christopher had a lot to deliver. But just as we expected, the star of the British fashion scene has wowed us again!
