Inside-Out - The Official Topshop Blog: GO WILD WITH CHRISTOPHER KANE

He’s 27 years old and he’s stolen our hearts and after trying on his latest pieces, we reckon you’ll be swooning too! All we can say is get shopping now; he’s turned down jobs at Versace, been summoned to the offices of Vogue’s Anna Wintour and cites Tipp-Ex as his favourite quick-fix fashion solution. Yep, there’s a lot to design super-star Christopher Kane and that’s why we’re super excited about his biggest and best collection for Topshop yet! Here, Christopher tells us why he was excited to collaborate with us:

"I am so excited about my new Topshop collection, this will be my third and I think my best so far! I hope you all agree - the SS07 collection of lace and ring dresses was hard to beat! It means so much to me to collaborate with Topshop, first of all I love everything that Topshop stands for, it provides high fashion at affordable prices for everyone, the energy within Oxford Circus is always electric, secondly, I think its really helpful for me to introduce myself to the younger generation coming through, my own range is very exclusive so this is the perfect opportunity to show the younger market with less disposable incomes who I am and what I do. When designing the Topshop collection I start off as I would do with my own Ready-To-Wear collections for London Fashion Week, I take my time and draw and draw until I start to connect with the drawings, from then I present my ideas for fabrics/textiles and explain silhouettes to the TS team who then begin sampling with their factories, all of this is very similar to what I do with my own label, I put as much energy and love in making anything that carries my name. I am very proud of this collection and hope that everyone loves each piece as much as I do."
