There's an insider phrase called "shopping the runway" which basically means picking out tomorrow's outfit from the girls making their way down the catwalk. I can guarantee that that's what happened at Phillip Lim today, where everything from a lipstick red trench coat to a black dotted chiffon tea blouse hit the runway. But will any of us get to wear Lim's latest hits tomorrow? Probably only Leighton Meester, who sat front row with Teen Vogue's Amy Astley and circled her favorite looks in the programme. Alexa Chung was there too, admitting she was "happy but exhausted". Of course she looked too cool to tell...
