RODARTE IN NYC!
September 17, 2009
Picture a desert, barren and dry. Scraps of fabric strewn hither and thither are found and fashioned into wearable garments. Part Mad Max and part dream-like fantasy, Rodarte's collection managed to be ethereal and grounded all at once. Through a swirling palette of sunset hues, rich black body-straps forged definite lines. Floor-sweeping tendrils swept the floor and brushed models' legs, while their torsos and arms were bound in bandage-esque tops. Waists were cinched, arms were tribally painted and shoulders were delicately reinforced with swathes of textured fabrics. Get ready to go crazy for asymmetric tops by the time SS10 swings around!

Certainly was there best collection yet for me, even if it had more of an A/W feel! Amazing, and the tribal tattoos work SO well.

I love the idea, indeed is a little of mad max and I believe it has something of the Jabba's dancers too.
Great pictures!
