BARBIE DOES DRESS-UP!

January 12, 2010

Just when we thought Barbie couldn't possibly be any more chic, we stumbled upon this perfect gem of a blog. Author Jocelyne Grivaud, inspired by a happy childhood full of frothy pink dresses and accessories to match, has taken her little plastic icon and placed her - rather fabulously - into a whole host of famous images that we all know and love. From iconic images of Coco Chanel and the Warhol print that defined a decade, to classic Man Ray photographs, Barbie helps to recreate some of visual culture's finest moments.  We're loving her and Ken playing Brigitte Bardot and Michel Piccoli in Le Mépris - a Stetson never looked so good! It's inspired us to have a think about what our favourite Barbie scenario would be. Heck - we might even have a dress-up ourselves!
