TIM BURTON AT MoMA
January 20, 2010
Today is definitely one of those days when we want to live in New York. Not only do lucky Big Apple residents get iconic yellow taxis, unbelievable fashion and a Topshop all of their own, they're also playing host to a beyond-exciting exhibition of celebrated film director Tim Burton's work.
The exhibition itself is a mammoth affair, showcasing over seven hundred examples of drawings, paintings, photographs, moving image works, concept art, storyboards, puppets, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic paraphernalia from some of his greatest pieces.
We've long been fans of Burton's gothic style and complex characters (who doesn't still cry at Edward Scissorhands?) and would so love to view some of the never-seen-before originals. So go take a peek at the Museum of Modern Art and let us know how it was. We'll be green with envy!

It actually was a bit of a letdown. Bit long, bit boring. I had high expectations, but left feeling underwhelmed. It's mostly 2D drawings of
his, which I found didn't have the same effect as the films at all.
Interesting to see, but don't get your hopes up too high. Might be worth going shopping instead.

I went to the Tim Burton exhibition when it first opened in November. It was okay but it was lacking something... not sure what?... maybe its that the rest of the MoMa is magnificent. It's one of my favourite places in NYC so worth a visit just to see the perm exhibs!
