PATTERNS AND PANELS AT PETER PILOTTO

February 24, 2010

There’s literally nothing that we didn’t love about Peter Pilotto's collection for AW10. The design supremos trotted out beautiful dress after beautiful dress while we sat there open-mouthed, lusting after it all.

Peter Pilotto and his partner, Christopher De Vos have a way with prints and this season’s mix of brooding grey, molten orange and sophisticated green had been inspired by 70s interiors and mother nature.

Pilotto-use

Models stalked the catwalk in swathes of fabric printed in gently undulating tones that overlaid a traditional, paisley pattern from Liberty’s archives. Symmetry was scarce - metallic pockets adorned one hip of a knee-length skirt while cropped cardigans buttoned together woody brown wool with vibrant orange leather.

Shirts buttoned up to the neck were paired with slim-line, high-waist leather trousers and prim jackets with an embellished hip-slung belt pouch. Mountainscape hemlines switched between flirty short and just-past-the-knee in a perfect play on this season’s shifting proportions.

We loved the heady mix of panelling and pattern and have one eye on the multi-strap shoes that looked so unbelievably cool. Like everyone else at their show, we want something Peter Pilotto and we want it now!

Amazing collection!

Cool palette. This makes me want to dec my house out in brightly coloured blown glass and giant lamps.
Not too much fur too - done brilliantly.
