OBSESSIVE CONSUMPTION
April 23, 2010
Ever since February 5th 2006, Kate Bingaman-Burt has been drawing one thing every day that she’s bought. That’s well over three-years-worth of sketches of purchases that we’ll all be familiar with, like cleaning products, post-it notes, hot dogs...
Her hundreds of works have now been grouped together into a book called Obsessive Consumption which seeks to put a personal face on objects that are mass-produced and explore the relationship we have with shopping, shared experiences, repetition and the things that we buy. We especially love her running commentary throughout the book!

This book looks brilliant. Keeping a spending diary like this would freak me out- I'd spend my whole life drawing pictures of things I bought
