HEY, MACAROON-A

May 24, 2010

We’re huge lovers of cake in all its forms, but never more than when it’s cute and comes in shades made to make your mouth water. That’s why this week we’ve been mainly drooling over the pages of I Love Macarons - a book dedicated entirely to one of our favourite miniature desserts. Haute-pastry-maker Hisako Ogita walks her readers through the usually difficult baby steps of macaroon making and allows amateur bakers, like ourselves, to produce unbelievably tasty treats at home!

If you can't quite muster the will to make your own, though, why not take a trip down to Selfridges where a gorgeous new Pierre Herme boutique has just opened, serving up his infamous macaroons alongside handmade chocolates and a little slice of Parisian chic. Desserts we don’t have to make ourselves? Sign us up!
