You've heard of fashion going green - now the people behind clothing label and film project Makin Jan Ma have taken it a shade further with Benny's Club. Let us explain. Artist Makin writes scripts and stories, and as he's going he designs clothes for the characters in those stories. It's an ongoing, constantly unfurling project, the fruits of which are sold through his brand new London store.
Ever the innovator, his celebration of the new opening was nothing short of genius. On October 14th the first meeting of Benny's Club took place at the Makin Jan Ma shop on Kingsland Road. If you turned up on the evening with a plant that you'd grown, they would give you 15% discount for the year ahead, as well as a seed for you to nurture into another plant. How cute is that!
