MADDY AND MONETTE
November 25, 2011
We have three new crushes; one on the Swedish photographer Maja Daniels and two on the Parisian twins that feature in her photographic series called Maddy and Monette.
Part of a long-term project which documents the lives of these identical and inseperable twins, these evocative images are as much about photography, as they are about sociology. Maja was fascinated by Maddy and Monette from the first time she saw them near her house but knew she had to photograph them when she found out they finished each other’s sentences and referred to themselves as "I" and not "we".
We're fascinated by Maddy and Monette's matching ensembles and can't help but think it must make getting dressed each day much more difficult! What do you think happens if they both feel like wearing different things?

What fun subjects for a series. Twins are such fascinating subjects. Especially ones like Maddy and Monette who are entirely inseparable.

Maddy and Monette live near me too! I have often seen them around in Paris - they fascinate me. I look forward to seeing the project.
