WE'RE CELEBRATING SPRING EQUINOX

Posted on January 13, 2012

Lose yourself in a folk legend where nothing is quite as it seems with our latest collection Spring Equinox! Vintage-inspired frocks have neon accents, perfect skirts are tiered at the hem, while gossamer-thin pieces have futuristic silhouettes. Sequin cycling shorts will add up-to-the-minute sparkle to any look - master the art of layering them beneath iridescent tunics. It's all about pulling on high-impact pieces over one another and offsetting them with metallic accessories. Soft spring sky shades – bubblegum pink, pretty lilac and homely peach - look spring perfect against cool silvery tones and neon highlights. This season, the prettiest clothes were made for dancing under the stars!

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER

Last spring, we worked with up-and-coming filmmaker Tyrone Lebon on our trends film. Huge admirers of his raw and intimate aesthetic, as soon as we heard about the release of his first photography anthology Nothing Lasts Forever, we knew we had to get ourselves a copy.

Capturing shots of people he was drawn to for unexplainable reasons, as well as friends and loved ones at his Brixton studio, his non-invasive style allows the true character of his subjects to shine. Tyrone’s style captures highly individual, almost awkward moments, giving the onlooker the impression that they are sharing an intimate moment with the subject themselves.

What we love about portraits is that they capture a frozen moment in time and Tyrone captures  these beautifully. The son of acclaimed i-D cover photographer Mark Lebon, Tyrone grew up in the studio, around all kinds of people, maybe explaining why he’s always got his eyes wide open, ready to take his next shot.

HIT REPEAT

Posted on January 11, 2012

As we're sure you'll all know, we've have a serious long-term music crush on Arcade Fire. You probably do too! The Suburbs has to be one of our favourite albums ever and after the buzz that their interactive video for Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) created, we've found ourselves hitting play again and again. Although the interactive video is super cool - you can make yourself dance along with Regine Chassagne - it mostly reminded us just how much we love this track. Take a listen - we dare you not not to hit repeat!

COUCH POTATO

Couch10

We don’t know about you but our couch is one of our favourite places in the whole wide world! We could never even dream of abandoning it - too many smiles and tears have been shared on it - and that’s precisely why we find Paul Batt’s photographs that capture these once intimate and now abandoned objects so fascinating.

Taken in the suburbs of Melbourne, there’s something almost sad about these interior objects now lying out in the street! We hope they find a new home - a bit of new upholstery can do wonders.

We know it's only Tuesday but we're already dreaming of snuggling up on our very own couches come Sunday! You?

POLABOY

It's no secret that we love the retro, instant picture producer that is Polaroid. So when we saw what Polaboy are doing, we had to let you know! German-based duo Jirko Bannas and Oliver Seltmann take polaroid images submitted by their clients and blow them up to ten times their normal size. Then they create the most perfect wall lights out of them. Imagine having your favourite holiday snaps illuminated on your wall, or a picture of a loved one to light up your night. We want at least ten, please!
